In celebration of the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America in 2026, the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency (WCTPA), a partner of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, is announcing the launch of The American Spirit Grant Program opening for applications on May 12, 2025.

The elaborate 18th century home of the leader of the Whiskey Rebellion. A scenic trolley ride in a vintage streetcar.  An archaeological dig dating back 19,000 years. An extensive local glass collection that spans over two centuries. All of this and more is available for visitors to explore in Washington County on Sunday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The National Historic Landmark’s new facility will feature a picnic pavilion, gift shop, event spaces, and more and is set to open for the first time on May 3 to kick off Meadowcroft's 56th season.
